I am very excited about this!!
I am giving away a free set of my design tiles/cards to everyone who goes to my website and joins the mailing list (ok, so it's not completely free, but you'd have to give me your email addy anyway for me to send you anything, right??).
I recommend printing the tiles/cards on card stock, then printing 'em out . . . you are gonna have so much fun, believe me!! If you don't believe me, would you believe my beta testers?? Greg and his wife were very helpful yesterday. I dunno if they got any sleep (they were having so much fun).
The tiles/cards are at the heart of my book (if/when I get it self-published) . . . I figured why should YOU have to wait that long?? If you take me up on my offer, I invite you to come on back to participate in a series of posts I'll write about symmetry and how it applies. And, of course I'd love to hear your comments, questions, and suggestions, too.
Tell all your friends . . . hell, for this you should tell all your enemies, too!!

I can't tell you how excited I found your website and now your blog. I can't wait to use your tiles you sent me for signing up at your site. If all it took was my email address. you have it. Love your designs. I am pretty new to quilting, less than two years, but, I love the paper piecing and I love color. So, needless to say, I love your quilts and pattersn. I am doing the New Your Beauty right now, but, I am thinking of going back and printing all the pattens on the starched muslin. Love that idea. What a time saver.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, just thought I would let you know you have a fun in OK.
Sandy
Sorry, meant to say:
ReplyDeleteYou have a FAN in Oklahoma.
Sandy
I spent the greater part yesterday playing with the tiles Raymond is giving away. The are addictive! It's amazing how many possible combinations there are with using just 12 tiles. Sign up and put a 'spin' on your quilt making. You'll create patterns that have never been seen before. You'll enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandy and Greg . . .
ReplyDeleteI've gotten through 2/3 of the email addresses in my address book (about 1500 of 'em), LOL!! . . . not everyone has responded (which is ok by me, too) . . . for the people who have responded, I'm entering data as fast as I can, so please bear with me . . . I WILL get design tiles to everyone who wants 'em!!
I've been fasinated by your quilting style since I saw you on Simply Quilts. If your Tribal Bear or Mardi Gras Men every come up missing, they'll be at my house. I LOVE the colors and design. Add your sense of humor to your talents and now you're stuck with me. Will be waiting for the promised self-publishing experience to conclude so I can get a copy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool free gift! can't wait to receive them and start playing! Thanks a bunch...
ReplyDeleteRosanne
Paula, I'm not stuck with you, you're stuck with ME!! (it's all a matter of perspective, right??) . . .
ReplyDeleteRosanne, I've finally caught up, so people aren't waiting hours for their gift . . . (you should have yours about now) . . .
if these are still offered, I would love a set. I think you have my email addy. ebandit AT hotmail DoT cOm
ReplyDeleteYes, Gene, these are still being offered . . . it's an open-ended giveaway. I'll email you a set shortly . . .
ReplyDeleteI just entered! I hope I can get a set too! I have been fascinated by symmetry & tesselations as well - glad you've found a new twist (or a hidden one) on a classic!
ReplyDeleteYour metal templates make me think that a deal with Accuquilt for die-cuts of the 24 block shapes should be in order! Combine that with the muslin piecing from the front & you've got a winner!
Your design tiles are on the way, Ebony . . . enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteThere are only five shapes for this particular tile . . . the 24 shapes you're referring to are part of the OLD version I used (as on Simply Quilts) . . . now there are 42 (but, more about that later)
As for the muslin piecing from the front, I didn't pursue that much further . . . I reverted to "sewing from the back," though I retained the idea of foundation piecing on muslin (more about that later, too)
